Supply Chains and Raw Materials

In a previous post about customers and suppliers I made the point that everyone has a customer and a supplier.  It is fun to think about your supplier and their materials and who supplies them and who supplies them.  Eventually you get back to the raw materials coming out of the earth.  If you want to read a very short book that explains this wonderful process consider Leonard Read’s book I, pencil.

Supply Chain.    Definition: The process of moving raw materials, goods and services from suppliers to customers, including the transportation modes, finally to the end user.

Raw Materials.   Definition: The basic stuff and matter that is changed and manipulated into something else to be sold to a potential customer.
