It’s just a box.

A box is a simple thing made of cardboard.   It is hard to imagine living without it because almost every product you can think of comes in a box.  If you see something on a store shelf it might be in a can or a bottle but even those things were in a box before they were put on a shelf.   There are however two types of cardboard which I will discuss today.

Corrugated.   Definition.  A product made of three or more layers of cardboard with a wavey layer between two flat sheets.  It can also be made of plastic and sometimes steel can be made this way.

Cardboard.   Definition.  A thin product derived from trees which is much thicker than paper and much less flexible.

Even though corrugated is different from cardboard, usually people say cardboard for both.
