Wire Week

This week will feature words and sentences that have to do with wires.   So what is a wire?  My simple definition is that a wire is a small cylindrical, flexible tube that carries electricity and/or information.    Usually the outside of the tube is plastic with some type of metal on the inside.   There are different types of wires and I will discuss these this week.

Sample Sentences:

Ethan cut the red wire in order to disable the bomb.  (Wire here is a noun and is the object of the sentence.)

Armando had to untangle the wires under his desk.  (Wire is working the same way in this sentence.)

The electrician had to rewire the control panel after the fire.  (Here the “re” in front of word means to “do again”.  So you can wire an electrical panel but if you have to do it again then you “rewire” it.   Wire in this sentence is a verb.
