An adjective is a word that describes a noun.

Here are some examples:

The fast car passed the slow bike.  (Fast is the adjective because it describes the noun car.)

Green apples are delicious.  (Green is the adjective because it describes the noun apples.)

Happy people smile.   (Happy is the adjective because it describes the noun people.)
