Layoffs

Due to a variety of factors companies occasionally have to ask employees not to come to work when sales slow down.  We call these actions by companies layoffs.  If it happens to you, you have been laid off.  If it is a future plan there will be layoffs.

Example:  Due to declining auto sales, General Motors had to layoff more employees.
