How much are you getting paid?

It is considered impolite or rude to ask someone how much money they make.   But not always.   You might ask it this way.   How much are you getting paid at your job?  What is your salary?   In a job interview they sometimes ask how much you expect to get paid.   Your might say, “I expect my wages to be one hundred thousand dollars a year”.   And here is the word for the day.  Wages.

Definition:  Wages are the amount of money you are paid at a job.   

Examples:  Some football players want half their wages in bitcoin.  Heineken increased the wages of its employees by nine percent last year.
