Do or make? which do I use?

“I did a mistake” or “I made a mistake”, which is correct? Well it is, “I made a mistake”. Knowing when to use one instead of the other may seem confusing but fortunately there are some guidelines to help you.

Make is more for creating something.

  • I am making breakfast.

  • They were making progress on the project.

  • She makes beautiful crafts.

Do is for general activities.

  • Why aren’t you doing your homework?

  • He does squats every morning.

  • You need to do the laundry to day.
