Animal farm

There are many great works of English literature but one of the best is Animal Farm by George Orwell. The characters are farm animals, but it does not take long to realize that they represent real-world people.

One reason I am excited about this book is I think it will be good for group lessons for intermediate and advanced students. It is short, with only ten chapters which fit nicely into ten lessons over ten weeks.

On a less important note, I have to say that I am very influenced by a book’s cover. This of course goes against the saying, “You can’t judge a book by its cover”. But the cover art on my personal copy is atrocious. Observe.

Compare this to the art you first saw on my site before you read this article. I found this picture with the search term, “animal farm” of course, which lead me to the artist Jon Fulton on Pinterest. There are other good options but I really like this one. Let me know what you think!

If you want to be part of a small group study, then sign up here! You will save money compared to a regular lesson and probably have more fun to boot.
